1. The midsagittal plane of the patient's head is parallel to the film which touches the side of the patientÕs head to be radiographed.
   
   
2. The center of the x-ray beam enters the opposite side from a point approximately two inches superior and one inch posterior to the superior border of the external auditory meatus and is directed posteroanteriorly through the condyle to be radiographed.
